VISION

The learning of history provides opportunities to make students aware of the past and its legacies as a lifelong process to explore the fundamentals of human society. The target is to reach all sections of society through formal, distance and virtual (online) modes of learning so as to develop the skills needed to pursue research and job opportunities and to develop a knowledge-based society to lead life as an independent citizen and to promote social justice.

            History provides a platform that can unfold the process of change and development through which the human societies have evolved to this present stage of development. Hence, the department promotes an understanding of the process of evolution and progress of human society.
