Post Graduate students of History and Archaeology will be able to
Develop critical reasoning and logical interpretative attitude towards the multiple narratives of past, based on the study and analysis of interconnected political, socio-economic and religio-cultural facts of history.
Identify the patterns, causes and effects of historical developments and events as well as to identify the historiographical trends.
Realize the significance and relevance of learning history and its application value in solving modern challenges, besides acquiring the eligibility to serve in academic as well as administrative positions in different capacities that require the knowledge and understanding of History and Archaeology.
PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES
Students who successfully complete MA in History and Archaeology will be equipped with the knowledge of Cultural Heritage, local and regional history, traditions, socio-religious and political concepts and institutions of India from early times.
After successful completion of this programme, students will be able to conceive solutions to the contemporary socio-political issues and challenges in the light of the illuminating thoughts of social reformers, intellectuals and their social transformation movements.
This programme enlightens students about the growth of nationalist movement and development of democratic institutions in India, as well as the significance of political and educational representation of weaker sections and women.
Lastly, after completion of this programme, students are equipped with the techniques and methods of historical research and the knowledge of development of historiography.
