ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

 
  1. Established in the year 1959
  2. The Post-graduate Dept. of  Hindi started in the year 1959-60 at Karnatak Arts College, Dharwad.
  3. The full pledged P.G.Department of Hindi was established in the Karnatak University campus in the year 1971

Founder Chairman of the Department

Prof. R. K. MUDALIAR

     

•   The renowned scholar of 18 languages and Linguistics Prof. Radhakrishna K.Mudaliar was the founder Chairman of the Department.

•   Dr.Chandulal.G.Dubey succeeded as Chairman of the Department (1980-87). He Implemented Hindi Language At Non-Hindi Zone. Now DBHP-MADRAS was a Research Centre which have Many Branches  Throughout South India.

•   Our Former Chairman Sahitya Academy Awardee Prof. T.V. Kattimani was served as Vice-chancellor, Indiragandhi TribalUniversity, Amarkantak (MP) For the 2nd tenure he is an Vice-chancellor of Central University of Andhrapradesh (Vijayanagaram)
