Kousali Institute of Management Studies

FUTURE PLANS

Preamble:

Kousali Institute of Management was established in the year 1976 by Karnatak University, Dharwad and was named after the Philanthropist Mr. TammannappaKousali for his invaluable Donations to start the Institute. In 1981 an Independent building was constructed and the Institute was run in it until it was reported to be unsafe for utilization till 2007. The Institute was then shifted by the University, to its Silver Jubilee Building in the campus and housed for a temporary period till 2009. It was further, shifted to its old building with minor repairs which did not last long and was again reported unsafe by 2015. Again the Institute has been shifted to a temporary location to Natural History Museum Building of the University in the main campus and at present it is housed in the same Building with lack of infrastructure. Though the Institute enjoys a very high reputation in the country due to the excellent education being provided in the Institute in the field of Management. It was well known only after IIM Bangalore in the state at one point of time is now deteriorating in its reputation and existence due to lack of Building and Infrastructure. As compared to other affiliated Private B-schools in the Jurisdiction of the Karnatak University, the KIMS is standing with a much inferior infrastructure. Due to this the Institute has lost a much needed AICTE approval for running a management Institute in the country. Simultaneously the Institute is failing to attract good students as compared to other local affiliated MBA Institutes. Therefore this appeal is for financial assistance from the Government of Karnataka for necessary sanction of grant for construction of the New Building for KIMS, and to reestablish the Institute as a Premier Institute in the field of management education. Hence the  subsequent paragraphs of this report. Kousali Institute of Management Studies, Dharwad. Kousali Institute of Management Studies (KIMS) is one of the premier B-School. It is a Management department of Karnatak University, Dharwad. It was established in 1976 , and has gifted eminent professionals to the corporate and good human beings to the society at large.  KIMS has got a strong alumni network as its backbone. An efficient team of faculty is the strength for KIMS.
