  1. Reading Sessions: A Newspaper is a piece of material which provides knowledge of all the latest news and events happening in the world. Since its origin in 17th century, the newspaper has become an essential part of our daily life. Reading newspaper is a very useful activity to start your day. This gives us a brief knowledge into the real happenings in the country & around the world. Our college starts with a reading session everyday which is compulsory for every student to attend. So that they gain knowledge, become learners and enhances their writing skills as well.
  2. Open house session: In our college one of the best practices is an Open House Session. It is the time during which all students meet the department faculties regarding discussion on the different issues of the institute. Some other activities performed in the Open House are:
  • We get to see the students and teachers in action in an authentic setting.
  • You are exposed to and educated on the curriculum.
  • You will get a sense of what the institute values are, what its mission is, and how it executes the mission.
  • You are given the opportunity to ask questions to be answered by the team of MBA faculties.
  1. Meet the executive: An executive is someone who is employed by a business at a senior level. And hence it’s one more best practice adopted at the institute where we invite these executives weekly to interact with the students and share their domain expertise. The benefits of this practise are:
    1. In an executive meet, students get a chance to meet with like-minded professionals.
    2. Meet to executive creates opportunities for each student to develop important skills. The facilitator is refining their leadership skills by practicing effective communication techniques and motivating students to be accountable for their commitments. 
  2. Rural outreach programmes: Considering that the rural areas in India especially in Dharwad, Karnataka are generally deprived of adequate medical and other facilities, a Rural Outreach Programme was launched by Kousali Institute of Management Studies, Karnatak University, Dharwad in order to provide free out - patient services, Food and clothing and other awareness to such rural areas.
  3. Sankalp (Orientation Programme):The Orientation programme is one opportunity to introduce the new students to life at our Institute and facilitate a smooth transition the new life. The objective is to help new students to adjust to the campus through a series of activities and sessions organized as part of the programme. In this session one best Male and Female students are selected based on their performance in different events arranged for them and awarded for the same. This programme helps students by:
    1. Building the confidence of the new students which creates a positive attitude towards the institute.
    2. students are given instruction about the Mission, vision, culture objectives, goal of the institute.
  4. Sammilan(Parents Teachers Meet): It is an occasion when the parents of the students come together in order to discuss the progress, performance or work of the students with the management Faculties.
    1. This platform helps parent and teacher to develop a rapport and build a strong relationship to understand and determine the need of students.
    2. Parent as well as teacher shares their effort on a common platform for the welfare of a child.
  5. Samar(Sports Meet):Every year the institute organises an event at which a number of athletic or other sporting contests are held. All faculties, students and scholars take part in this sports meet. It helps students:
    1. To develop Self-confidence and self-esteem
    2. To Manage Emotions and be disciplined.
    3. Team work and accept defeat.
  6. Darpan (Alumni meet):Alumni Meet is an experience for both the institute and its alumni. Our Institute re-connects to alumni through this one of the best practice Darpan for numerous reasons and occasions. The best is our existing students build network with the alumni for recruitment.
    1. Connecting fellow alumni is one way to find career and social opportunities, but reconnecting with past professors can offer a wealth of opportunities as well.
    2. Graduates often want to stay connected to their alma mater and help future generations of alumni have the same opportunities and positive experiences they did. Alumni associations offer a number of ways to give back, including gifts, endowments, membership fees, and volunteer opportunities.
  7. Samarpan(Valedicatory):After spending two successful years at Kousali Institute, the department arranges a valedictory for the outgoing batch. This gives them a chance to express their experience at the department for the two years.
  8. Industrial Visit: one more best practice at our institute id the industrial trip. Industrial visits are arranged by the department for the students with an objective of providing students functional opportunity in different sectors like IT, Manufacturing and services, finance and marketing. Industrial visit helps to combine theoretical knowledge with industrial knowledge. Our institute takes final year students to the North of India to visit different companies. It helps our students in many ways:
    1. Provides an opportunity to interact with Industry Expert.
    2. Learning experience.
    3. Interpersonal skills enhancement.
  9. Consultancy: A consultancy project/task/work is one where faculty and research staff provide knowledge and intellectual inputs to industry or other organisations (within India and abroad), primarily for their purposes. Faculties at the institute take up consultancy projects  and provide insights to industries.
