At present there is no Drosophila facilities in the University Campus which can be used for study and research purpose.
as the students of the Department having many practical's in Drosophila Genetics, are facing lot of problems because of lack of Drosophila Facilities and are taking assistants of some of the other institutes which are situated far away from Dharwad.
Considering above facts it is essential to establish Drosophila house facility in the Department of Applied Genetics.
At present there is no animal facility in the University Campus which can be used for Research purpose. As the Applied Genetics is interdisciplinary subject some of the experiments are based on the animal models.
