ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

This department offers Master of Physical Education (M. P. Ed.) in addition to the Ph. D.  The department was established in the year 1990. The department is one of the demanding courses in university jurisdiction because it is the only department which provide M. P. Ed which is very essential to work in higher educational institutions.  Mainly this course is professional course which gives blended experience of practical and theory learning in the field of physical education and sports.  The output of the department will cater their services in government and private higher education sector.  Many of them working as fitness experts in various institutions as well as facilitators of physical education facilities and activities. Specially most of them working in rural area schools to provide basic knowledge of physical education and sports to rural children.  Department consists of faculties which are very dedicated and most of them completed their doctoral degree and N. I, S (Coach) courses. Many students of the department have taken up their higher studies by clearing exams like K-SLET, NET and JRF.  The department installed one gold medal for the meritorious students.  The department is strong both in academics and research providing equal emphasis to ensure overall development and training of the student.
